ABOUT ME
BACKGROUND
I am a psychotherapist and couples counsellor working with my dog Irma in providing care for my clients. I am particularly interested in neurodiversity, giftedness, anxiety disorders, trauma and obsessive-compulsive disorder across the lifespan. I have a background in research and teaching, and come to counselling with a PhD in philosophy. Irma is a provisionally certified therapy dog.
THERAPEUTIC APPROACH
My approach to therapy is integrative, trauma-informed, gender inclusive, neuro affirming, evidence-based, collaborative, and person-centred. I integrate a variety of therapy approaches depending on my clients’ needs. These include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Ecotherapy, Mindfulness, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP), and Animal Assisted Therapy.
